Bon Scott

Born: 1946-07-09 - Died: 1980-02-19
Cause of Death:
Alcohol Poisoning

Death Summary: At the age of 33, Scott passed out in the back of a car after a night of drinking in London. The next day, the owner of the car (who had let him sleep there) found his body. He was pronounced dead on arrival after being rushed to King's College Hospital.

Some believe he drowned in his own vomit, but the official ruling was "acute alcohol poisoning".

Who was Bon Scott: Ronald Belford "Bon" Scott contributed vocals to a number of bands before becoming the driver for the Australian hard rock band AC/DC.

Inevitably, Ac/DC found there then singer Dave Evans to be a little too Gary Glitter-esque, and asked Bon to join, and history was made. Bon was the vocalist for AC/DC until his death at which point he was replaced by Brian Johnson (former vocalist of Geordie who one of Bon's old bands, Fang had once opened up for).

While Back in Black, the first album without Scott on vocals is widely considered the bands masterpiece, only the previous albums that featured Bon have come close in the realm of great rock records.
