Death Summary: He and other Apache warriors were sent to Fort Pickens, in Florida as prisoners. After being transferred to other locations, he passed away at Fort Still, Oklahoma, in 1909.

Who was Geronimo: A leader of the Chiricahua Apaches, he fought against the Mexican and the U.S. army from 1858 to 1886, when he surrendered to the U.S. army. US army paratroopers, in honor of his bravery, call out his name when parachuting out of a plane.
