Louis Allen Rawls died on January 6, 2006 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles from complications of the cancers. His wife was at his beside at the time of his passing.
Who was Lou Rawls: Rawls was a jazz, soul, and blues singer and is known for his “silky” voice. Frank Sinatra once said that Rawls had “the classiest singing and silkiest chops in the singing game”.
Rawls released more than 70 albums over his career, and sold more than 40 million records.
